Excerpt from The Villages Daily Sun, “Villages Authors” column, written by Rachel Stuart – 12/23/18

The first draft of “Manny the Lamb,” a children’s book, was written by Rick Lancaster.

But when he passed away last year, his cousin, Delores Kight, picked it back up.

“My aunt and uncle knew I’ve written short stories for children’s magazines before, so they asked if I could complete the book and get it published,” said Kight.

The book, published in October, is Kight’s first book.

“I’ve always wanted to write a children’s picture book,” she said. “For me to complete Rick’s work provided the perfect opportunity. I felt like this brought completeness to his life.”

The book is intended for children ages 3 to 7 and tells the story about a lamb named Manny who was rescued by a faithful shepherd, after he wandered away from his flock.
